Although I am not a very big fan of Rush Limbaugh, I was listening to him on Wednesday. He was talking about how the liberal media will now target him because Bush is no longer the "head conservative." I thought that was pretty usual of Rush to be that arrogant. I was scanning the news today and it looked like Rush predicted that one. Obama is warning republicans not to listen to Rush Limbaugh if they want to get along with him.
I wonder how far he will take this one. All of those conservative talk show guys have been talking about how the liberals want the fair radio act (or whatever it is called) I wonder how long before that happens and their conservative voices will be stopped.
It'll be fun to see how this turns out.

Wow, definitely interesting. I've been oblivious to all of this.
I listen to Rush from time to time even though I have a hard time with his arrogance. But, regardless, I agree with a lot of his ideas so hearing this makes me worry about the conservative voice being squashed!
Just wanted to add...
That's actually downright scary. So...the liberal voice is the only validated one? We aren't welcome to our ideas and our talkshows because we disagree with them?
Definitely scary.
Hi, Just discovered your blog.
Rush is 80 percent humor. I listen to him occasionally and on Tues. he was downright hilarious. I think he tries to get people going. Yeah a lil arrogant, but I agree w/ Jen, I thought this was a free country....why are "certain opinions" trying to be crushed. hmm. I thought you were pretty hilarious too...you were at a couples gathering at Sarah and Ryan's this past St.John's, Dan and I, Juli, were there.
Yes, I agree. Rush does try to get things going, and he targets the liberals with his arrogance, and I really like that part. But, I think to much of him can get a little old. He has a conservative base, and he also tries to make the conservatives mad with what he says so they will listen to him more. I just think that I would go crazy if I listened to him to much!!
I listen to Rush occasionally as well as Hannity. And while they do get a bit over the top for the sake of thier listeners, there should be no reason they are not allowed to voice their opinion.
Is Obama is really warning republicans not to listen to Rush if they want to get along with him? Or is this what Rush claims? Either way that's ridiculous. This country is founded on freedom and giving us suggestions about how we should think is just the first step toward an entirely different way of governing. I wish Obama the best in his presidency, but I refuse to be told how to think. And basically, it appears as though that's what he's aiming for. His supporters think he can do no wrong right now so now all he needs to do is sway the republicans that way too and he'll be set.
I had been listening to several talk shows during the time around the election and heard often heard mention of this radio act that you're talking about. Although I think it would be pretty hard for something like that to go over, I have to admit that I would not be surpirsed if it eventually did. I tend to be a bit of a skeptic and slightly paranoid though, so factor that in.
I completely agree with what you say about getting the conservatives mad so they'll listen to him more. Hah! That's excatly right and humbly admit it works for me. Sorry so long winded, it just happened to hit a nerve! : )
Hmmm. I agree with you guys.
Especially JJ's point in her second comment.
